Inspiration can come from anywhere, artists around the world have established that aplenty. But when inspiration comes from nature, the resulting art becomes a unique translation of the world’s beauty so much so that we cannot dislodge it from nature at all. In a similar fashion, Gerardo Korn was inspired and his art was one that captured the act of nature reclaiming its home.
In the months after the human world came to a near standstill, something extraordinary started to happen — a forgotten understanding came to the fore, and with it, the thirst to witness the miracles of nature that had long evaded our oblivious eyes. Some watched the skies turn bluer by the day, some marveled at the satisfaction of planting a sapling, and some took to expressing this unraveling beauty for the benefit of the world.
Gerardo — an Argentine-German artist & photographer — went down the path of introspection during the pandemic. He truly sought the beauty that surrounded him and this endeavor led him to discover the regions where he had lived his entire life. It is a privilege to be able to see familiar places with a new perspective, to unlock the significance of a minute change, and appreciate the power it has to create a lasting impact upon one's psyche. His
journey was to manifest this privilege that was being bestowed upon the people of this world. A way to show a deep appreciation of his magnificent homelands.
He focused his lens on the smaller aspects that spoke of new beginnings rising from the remnants of the old. From an enlightening walk on the edges of the mythical Black Forest in Germany to a simple stride till the front gate of his house in Argentina, he found what he sought.
He found proof of the interdependency between nature and people. The pandemic has taught us all so much and this photographic edit stimulates a person’s perspective to look deeper, and witness the empirical truth of life itself. Those that see the works find their sensibilities piqued and experience the art created by nature itself.
The best part of this time of stillness has been depicted in the exhibition “To Seek Is To Find”, that promises something rather remarkable — a souvenir of deep introspection, a reminder of the powers of nature, and the ever-evolving perspective of the human mind.
Photographic arts are intimate and have the ability to make us understand the artist’s perspective. Gerardo Korn’s work is intuitive, interactive and introspective. This exhibition is a reflection of the changes that have occurred not only in the world & environment but also within. It throws light on the aspects of nature that we often miss and brings to the fore the importance of preserving life in its truest form — the way it was meant to be! Experience the exhibition and delight in the restorative power of witnessing nature reclaim its home. View Virtual Exhibition here.
