Interview With The Filmmakers of "Super Human Anxiety"

Many of you may know BPW members, Lea-Ann W. Berst and Ashley Maria, and have attended screenings of their feature documentary, "Pioneers in Skirts." If you did, you saw the real power of film! We sat down with our BPW sisters to learn about another impact film they’re currently making called "Super Human Anxiety" – a movie about teen anxiety.

“Super Human Anxiety” is about a teenage girl who thinks she’s hiding her strong emotions well. But, when her elevator breaks down, fate forces her to out her secret. Scheduled for release in May 2024, during Mental Health Awareness Month, the film highlights the importance of self-care & providing support to those silently struggling.

The film is part of an overall platform that involves informative storytelling and post-screening educational tools to empower mental health programs that strengthen a teen’s capacity to regulate emotions and build resilience for managing difficult situations.

Starting in May 2024, "Super Human Anxiety" will be offered for FREE to groups focused on improving mental health conditions for teens.

Watch the BPW Artslink interview with the filmmakers and hear about how they are using special effects and a sense of humor to tell a story aimed at helping teens and young adults lean into productive discussions around anxiety.
